Hydraulic presses have some advantages over mechanical presses as they have a quicker processing speed during hand fed tasks. Mechanical presses are quicker in processing automatically fed jobs, but most jobs are hand fed. Another other advantage is the relatively quick setup time of hydraulic presses. This is important as the quick setup of the presses enables for quicker changeovers from one job to another which leads to more productivity. Hydraulic presses generally cost less to purchase and operate and they are quieter and more compact than mechanical presses.
